CWIP New Years Resolutions: Get Involved

By Aleisha Gardner on Wednesday, December 9, 2015

Visualize your career goals for the next year. The biggest step to successfully achieving your New Years resolutions is to make a plan! Let's get started.

1)Where would you like to see your career in the next 5, 10, and 15+ years? Set your intentions early and revisit these goals every few months.

2)Create milestones to ensure that you are making progress. Plot events and other important dates on your 2016 calendar that will help you follow through with your intentions. Your 2016 calendar is most likely booked for only a few key dates thus far, which provides the perfect opportunity to start planning! For starters, check out the monthly events posted on the right side of the CWIP homepage.

3)The weekly CWIP programs act as networking opportunities for individuals who are serious about taking their professional profile to the next level. Most program events are only ten dollars, which is quite a steal if you think about the potential business outcomes. If you are just entering the publishing field, you may want to attend a few events that interest you based on your career aspirations.

4)Seek out other professional development opportunities, such as freelancing, mentoring, internships, achieving additional education/certificates, joining special interest groups like CWIP, or reading self-help books to boost your professional knowledge.

Good luck setting your professional goals for 2016!
