Academic Publishing in Chicago

By Aleisha Gardner on Tuesday, January 19, 2016

I just registered for the CWIP educational event on February 17 - Academic Publishing in the Digital Age and cannot be more excited. As a biological anthropologist, educator, writer, editor, and CWIP member, Michelle Singleton has paved her way through the academic publishing field. Singleton organized and will moderate this unique CWIP event, which focuses on scholarly reviews, digital publishing, and the accessibility of academic literature. I look forward to the discussion regarding the marketing opportunities, convenience, and perception of digital publishing.

Check out the following guest panelists:

Sandra De Groote: Professor and Scholarly Communications Librarian at University of Illinois, Chicago.

Dr. Jack Gilbert: Department of Ecology & Evolution at University of Chicago, BioCollective/Field Museum/American Microbiology Society, PLOS One Section Editor, and Editor-in-Chief of mSystems (one of the American Microbiology Society's new open access journals).

Nathan MacBrien: Special Projects Editor at Northwestern University Press.

Michael Magoulias: Director of the University of Chicago Press Journals Division.
