CWIPers on the Move: October 2005

Maribeth Bruno
Theme Travel, a reader for advanced English-as-a-foreign-language students, has been published in Japan by the AEON Institute of Language Education. It consists of 36 chapters on destinations such as "The Hottest Place in the World," "Germany: The Early Beatles," and "Food Markets" and is accompanied by six CDs. Maribeth researched and wrote the English chapters for the project. She is a former EFL instructor for AEON.

Mary Mackay
Mary’s work in publishing includes five years at the University Press of Virginia as sales and publicity manager, a few months with HarperCollins in London, and then fourteen years with New Readers Press, where she was most recently named associate executive director/director of sales and marketing after a stint as editorial director. New Readers Press publishes materials for adult basic education, literacy, and ESL. Mary is looking forward to maintaining her connection with the educational and literacy mission through her new job at the American Library Association as sales and marketing director for the publications division. She also looks forward to getting to know the publishing community in Chicago over the coming years.

Mia Littlejohn
Mia recently joined the team at Eat Feed as director of marketing, development, and press. Eat Feed is a very exciting and new kind of media that explores eating, cooking, and the history of cuisine. In addition to taking on this marketing-driven role, Mia will be finding time for some classes in the culinary arts this fall to further deepen her understanding of the great food traditions that have shaped and made possible our modern culinary habits.

Jenny Seay
Jenny was promoted to a full-time position as an editorial communications specialist in the Marketing Department at Northwestern Business College on September 26, 2005. She writes and edits a variety of materials for the school, including direct mail, radio commercials, press releases, public service announcements, brochures, letters, and web content.
