Get Involved with CWIP and Further Your Career

Have expertise to share in marketing, social media, event planning, or networking? Getting involved with CWIP is a great way to sharpen your existing skills or develop new ones. You’ll also make new friends, meet publishing professionals, and add valuable experience to your résumé. CWIP can even help you change your career.

Joining the CWIP board is a great way to increase your knowledge and skills while contributing to the organization. In fact, another great benefit for board members is they get 50% off their following year's membership fee after serving a full June-to-July term.

CWIP has the following committees and they always need competent volunteers:

  • Events and Programs: This committee plans and executes Wednesday evening educational events, special events (like our Fall Kickoff and the spring Publishing Fair), and workshops.
  • Marketing: This committee handles all of CWIP's marketing and PR efforts, promotional materials, eCWIP electronic newsletter, and social media.
  • Membership: This committee helps attract new members and retain existing members.
  • Website: The Website Manager updates the new website and keeps all information current and relevant. The Blog Content Editor manages CWIP's blog content and any blog contributors.
  • Mentorship: The Mentorship committee coordinates all activities related directly to our mentorship program.
  • Business Development: Manages donations, contributions, fundraising, sponsorships, and advertising sales.
