CWIP hosts educational events that are open to the public, but are FREE for CWIP's Professional Members; other CWIP members receive preferred pricing. We take the summer off and return in the fall with new programming based on what our members tell us is important for their careers.
CWIP also provides occasional special events designed to be both informative and entertaining, while offering some of the best networking opportunities around. The annual CWIP Publishing Fair will be held at Roosevelt University in the Loop this year on Wednesday, May 17. Click here for all the details. Or register as an exhibitor. On Tuesday, May 9, CWIP is having our annual Mentor Night with DePaul University, where CWIP panelists share their experiences and advice with DePaul students in writing and publishing majors. This is an open event designed for students; join us and feel free to bring a friend.
CWIP occasionally sponsors more in-depth workshops on topics of interest to our members are typically held on Saturdays; they are open to the public, but CWIP members receive preferred pricing. We recently had a big full-day workshop for professionals who want to write a marketing book, but keep an eye out for upcoming workshops as they are announced.
Free networking and learning events are exclusively designed for CWIP members in our Mentorship Program. Mentorship events are free, but only the October one is open to the public. Any current CWIP member can join the mentorship program as a mentor or mentee; just fill out the CWIP mentorship application or e-mail the Mentorship Director at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CWIP members are invited to collaborative nights with members of other Chicagoland professional associations. It's a great way to meet new people and expand your connections.
